Kenai Fjords National Park
Boat tours depart Seward’s small boat harbor daily in the summer months. Our half-day Resurrection Bay, ranger-narrated cruise gave us a taste of Kenai Fjords National Park’s wildlife and scenery. Exit Glacier is the only part of Kenai Fjords National Park accessible by road. A network of short trails leads to different views of Exit Glacier from the Nature Center. The one-mile loop trail to the Toe of Exit Glacier and Glacier’s Edge crossed a rocky outwash plain. Our hike was unhindered by any flooding or washouts, but the wind blew fiercely as we stood next to the glacier’s dramatic edge.
