Cotton has affected lives in a variety of ways throughout centuries. It’s legacy felt yet today.

The elegance of soft, fluffy white cotton bolls has intrigued me since moving to the South. Maybe growing up around corn fields has had something to do with this fascination. Or maybe it’s the various connotations and sentiments visualized and experienced by individuals, positive and negative.

Whatever the reason, capturing the essence of cotton in the field and under scrutiny in my light tent a focus for several years now. Never quite satisfied yet with images but continually pursuing to that end.
