Bremen is a port city along the River Weser in northwestern Germany, about 37 miles south from its mouth on the North Sea. The city's most important monuments are lined up around the historical market square: Rathaus (Town Hall), Dom St Petri (Cathedral of St Peter), Roland (statue), Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten (Town Musicians of Bremen), Böttcherstrasse (narrow street that runs to the River Weser), and the Schnoor (endless twisting lanes and shops).
