St. Louis, Missouri
September 21-24, 2011…trekked twenty miles on foot, shot hundreds of images with my Canon SX20, and this photographer had a grand time traipsing around downtown St. Louis. One day I wandered from one end to the other of St. Louis’ award-winning, 75,000 square foot Lumiere Place Casino looking for the Fun Trolley Tours just outside its mall entrance. The next day I wove through pews at the Cathedral Basilica capturing the grandeur of meticulously laid tiles. Penitence for the previous day’s pastime to satisfy my appetite for action…hardly!
My original photography intent was to capture St. Louis architectural scenes, and I certainly have a collection as evidenced in this gallery. In spite of this objective and as the week progressed, capturing faces in the crowd took precedence. I’m reluctant to upload people images to my website or blog. As goal oriented as I am, being a focused photographer during the annual downtown Taste of St. Louis festival and parade was energizing and just plain fun.
